Associated Developers – Morris Square Phase II, Charleston, South Carolina

Situated in Downtown Charleston, Morris Square Phase II is a project located in Charleston’s National Landmark Historic District. Morris Square Phase II represents an urban infill project – an attempt to create one of the most innovative and interesting new development projects in Downtown Charleston, with a dense collection of buildings and public spaces that compliments and strengthens the existing neighbourhood. The project aims to satisfy a unique demand in the Charleston housing market by using innovative architecture and land planning to provide more reasonably-priced homes for families and respond to contemporary living needs, while respecting and strengthening the historic fabric and context of Charleston.

Morris Square Phase II includes thirty-two (32) residential units, a relocated and renovated historic chapel, and the creation of a new city park. Turnberry Consulting US served as the project manager for the developer and managed all entitlement/design review processes as well as consultant management (architect, landscape architect, civil engineer). The entitlement process included the revision of a Memorandum of Understanding, revision of PUD guidelines, Technical Review Committee review, Design Review Committee review, Planning Commission review, City Council (and Committee) review, Board of Architectural Review review, and neighbourhood outreach.
